New Year's Eve Count Down

10, 9, 8 …we were shouting the count down to 2005. I couldn't hear anything but noise, but I was shouting-I knew that. I had a popper in one hand and noisemakers in the other. My head was swirling with excitement, and I knew this was the moment that I had been waiting for.

Watching the numbers flash on the T.V., I felt so warm and thoughtful. Every year the New Year's Eve party has been a very special time for my family and me because everyone is together. So I wanted to make it very special. Jumping up and down I felt so joyful and excited. When I started to watch the count down again, I heard myself and everyone else shouting out the numbers. When we reached 1, my ears echoed as I heard the sound of the noisemakers and poppers. We were all shouting "Happy New Year!" and we were having a ton of heard fun.

"Sarah, time to go to bed." I heard my mom's comforting voice call from the quiet hall.

"Just one more minute?" I asked.

"Sarah, bed now." My mom called back

I crawled into bed thinking about what had happened that night, but before I could do much thinking, I fell asleep. I think that it was one of my best New Year's Eve parties.
