New Year's Eve Party
I felt fingers and hands pushing me out the door as we raced outdoors.
My eyes were drawn to the never-ending sky, and my eyes were dazzling
in the moonlight that shone brighter than 10000 stars. I reached
my hand into the huge crowd, and I found myself holding a purple
horn. Minutes later, I found myself dancing around a blazing and
crackling fire barely contained by a fire pit. I flinched as a thunderous
horn sounded from down the hill. I was lifted up about two feet
from the ground as the horde ran to the edge of the porch. I guess
we didn't want to be late for the New Year.
Everyone was finally out of the house and in line on the cold and
wet porch of the hostess house; the deck was shaking up and down
from everyone shivering but no one seemed to mind the piercing cold.
A everyone drew a huge breath freezing cold air, and five seconds
later our horns sounded through out the valley, like air horns.
It was so loud I thought I was deaf. When we stopped to take a huge
gasp of air, a short reply came from down the hill. It was suddenly
a contest for who could be the loudest! Every other second people
were screaming "Happy New Year." After about 15 minutes
it started to rain again, and we all sprinted back into the cozy
house. When everyone was finally done shivering, we gathered in
the living room, and a new sound was heard- the clinking of poker
chips.
